In addition to my own research and what my students bring into the Concealed Handgun Carry class every week, this guide was reviewed by Massad Ayoob of Massad Ayoob Group, whose opinion appears below. [Keep only if true — Chris: I handled the product(s) on this page myself. Details are in the test record at the end.] The method line at the end of the article says exactly how this guide was built.
Not many of my students own just one handgun for long. First comes the carry gun, then a bigger one for the house, then a .22 for practice, then whatever Dad left them. Pretty soon there’s a pile of pistols on a closet shelf, and the question on the break is how to lock them all up in one spot without buying a full gun safe.
The Billconch Multi-Pistol Smart Safe is a cube-shaped box built for that pile: a bracket for up to four handguns, a removable shelf above it, and four ways in. My verdict: a sensible mid-priced pick for a home with several pistols, as long as you anchor it and get the power and fit questions answered before you order.
FYI, prices and ratings are accurate as of time of writing.

Billconch Multi-Pistol Smart Safe – Best Biometric Gun Safe For Multiple Pistols Under $200
HIGHLIGHT:
A four-pistol bracket and a removable shelf behind a door that opens by fingerprint, PIN, app or key.
OUT OF THE BOX:
In the photos you can see the safe open with the manual and a bag of hardware sitting on the cabinet floor and a red strap hanging at the top. Another shot shows the extras laid out on a table: two keys on a ring, a bag of screws and bolts, and a USB cable.

Count the keys when you open it and decide right then where each one is going to live. Then read the manual before you enroll a single print. A safe with a screen, voice prompts and an app has more settings to get wrong than a box with a dial.

FRONT PANEL & FINGERPRINT READER:
The front is a plain gray steel door with a black control panel: a small screen up top, the fingerprint reader on the left, a key lock in the middle and a 12-button keypad on the right. Billconch lists an LCD screen with voice guidance and a silent mode, and the brand describes the keypad as backlit. In the photos you can see the reader glowing blue and the keypad lit red.

Billconch claims high-resolution scanning that unlocks in about one second. That’s the maker’s number. Real speed depends on your finger, how clean the reader is and how well you enrolled. I teach the same trick for every biometric safe: enroll the same finger several times at different angles, flat, tipped up and rolled a little to each side. If another adult shares the safe, set up their print and their PIN the same day, so nobody is troubleshooting at the worst possible moment.

Use the silent mode if this box is going in a bedroom. There’s no reason to announce to the whole house that you just opened the gun safe.

KEYPAD, APP & BACKUP KEY:
The PIN is your everyday fallback for a wet, dirty or cut finger. Pick a code that isn’t a birthday or your street number. Billconch says the app manages settings, passwords and unlock records, which is handy if you want a log of who opened it. The listing doesn’t name the app or say which phones it supports, so check that before you count on it.
The key is your last resort when the electronics quit. The photo of the lit-up panel shows it sitting in the lock with the paper tag still on. Fine for a picture. It’s not where a key lives. I tell every class the same thing: the key does not hang in the lock, sit on top of the safe or go in the drawer beside it. Put it on your key ring or in a second locked spot.

Billconch also says the door locks itself when it’s closed, as long as it was opened with the right code or fingerprint. That saves a step. It also means you need the habit of pushing the door all the way shut and giving it a tug every time.
DOOR, BOLTS & STEEL:
Swing the door open and you can see the locking bolts on its edge. One photo shows two round bolts standing out from the door, and another holds a shotgun shell up beside them to give you a sense of size. Billconch doesn’t list a bolt count, bolt size or steel thickness, so that shell is about the only yardstick you’ll get.

The seller calls the body high-tensile cold-rolled steel with a powder-coat finish, and the spec table says alloy steel. No gauge is given. There’s no fire rating, and the spec table says it isn’t water resistant. This is a box for keeping hands out, not for papers that need to come through a fire or a flooded basement.
INSIDE ROOM & PISTOL BRACKET:
This is the reason to buy this box over a flat one. Down low there’s a pistol bracket with four posts in a row, and a removable shelf above it for passports and valuables. Billconch says the support bar can be unscrewed and moved into a side hole of the bracket base to change the layout. There’s also an automatic LED light, and in the photos you can see it lighting up the cabinet.

The listing says up to four pistols. The outside is 11.81 inches deep, 11.41 wide and 10.24 high, and no inside dimensions are given. A bracket has fixed spacing, so four compact pistols and four full-size guns wearing lights are two different jobs. In one photo you can see two handguns hung on the bracket with things stacked on the shelf above.

Before you order, measure your widest pistol with its light or optic, and ask how much height the shelf leaves when it’s in. The listing doesn’t say whether the inside is lined. The close-up shows a gray floor under the bracket posts, so go by what arrives.

With children in the house, I like ammunition locked up apart from the guns when you can manage it. If that shelf is your only option, at least it’s all behind one locked door.
POWER:
A fingerprint reader, a screen, voice prompts, a lit keypad, an LED light and an app all run on something, but the listing doesn’t say what. There’s a USB cable in the hardware photo, but Billconch doesn’t say what it’s for, and I won’t guess. Check the manual for the battery type, how many it takes, how long they should last and how the safe warns you when they’re low.
After any battery change, test every way in: print, PIN, app and key. Then put a reminder on your phone for the first of every month. A dead safe at 3 a.m. is just a locked box, and the key is the only thing that gets you past it.
MOUNTING:
The spec table lists freestanding or tabletop, and the details I have don’t mention mounting holes. In the photos, though, you can see one outside panel with two holes in it, and the hardware bag holds what look like bolts. That suggests it can be anchored, but confirm it with Billconch before you drill.

The product name also mentions a security cable, and the brand’s description refers to a version with one. Check which package you pick and whether the cable comes with it. A cable run to a fixed point is a cheap way to make a freestanding box harder to carry off.
As an old lawman, my first thought on any box this size is the thief with five minutes. He doesn’t need to open it. He only needs to carry it to his truck. So anchor it, keep it out of sight from the doorway, and keep it out of reach of children. In the photos you can see one sitting in a cube shelf, which is about where most folks will put it.

If you have children in the house, this part isn’t optional. North Carolina’s safe-storage law (G.S. 14-315.1) can put you in court if a child gets hold of a loaded gun you left within reach and something happens with it. Other states have their own versions.
WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY:
Where it earns its keep: The fingerprint scanner is consistent on most units, setup is simple, the mid-size footprint suits everyday-carry storage, and overall build quality is solid.
Where it falls short: It is neither fireproof nor waterproof, the scanner can become unreliable after about a month on some units, and the interior pegs are unpadded and can scratch stored firearms.
Who it’s for: Quick everyday access to a pistol or EDC items in a mid-size safe. Skip it if you need fire or water protection or long-term biometric reliability, since the scanner can degrade over time.
WHAT TO WATCH:
Three gaps on the listing: no power source, no inside dimensions and no app details. Get answers to all three before you order. And since this is a biometric safe, keep in mind that recalls have hit some biometric safe brands in the past. Check the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall pages for Billconch before you buy, and never make the fingerprint reader your only way in.
WHO SHOULD BUY IT:
Buy it if you have two to four handguns that need to live in one locked spot, you want a fingerprint and a code instead of a dial, and you’ll anchor the box. At the time of writing it sat in the $100 to $200 range, and the page offers different packages, so check what’s in the one you pick. Skip it if you own one pistol, since a smaller box makes more sense. Skip it too if you need a fire rating or want something to ride in the truck.

Billconch Multi-Pistol Smart Safe FAQ
How many handguns does the Billconch safe hold?
The listing says up to four pistols on a bracket, plus passports and small valuables on a removable shelf. The outside is 11.81 x 11.41 x 10.24 inches and no inside dimensions are given, so check how your pistols fit the bracket, lights and optics included.
How do you open it if the fingerprint reader fails?
The seller lists a PIN keypad, an app and a mechanical key as other ways in. Set a PIN on day one and keep the key somewhere separate and locked, so a misread print or a dead battery never locks you out.
What powers the Billconch safe?
The listing doesn’t say. Check the manual or the listing’s Q&A for the battery type, expected life and low-battery warning, and test every way in after any battery change.
Can I bolt the Billconch safe down?
The spec table lists freestanding or tabletop and doesn’t mention mounting holes. The photos show a panel with two holes and a bag of hardware, so ask the seller to confirm. If your package includes a security cable, run it to a fixed point.
Is it fireproof or waterproof?
No fire rating is listed, and the spec table says it isn’t water resistant. Use it for everyday storage and keeping hands out, and keep papers you can’t replace in a separately rated container.
